  • Usage & Device Info: IP address, device type, OS, browser/app version, usage times, diagnostics, and logs.
  • Geolocation Data: Collected only if you enable location services in your device settings. May include precise GPS during streaming/alerts.
  • Communications: Support requests, feedback, and in-app messages.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used to:

  • Operate and improve Safe-Watcher (record, store, stream, alert, share as you direct).
  • Send safety alerts and notifications to your designated contacts.
  • Maintain security and detect/prevent abuse or service issues.
  • Provide support, communicate updates, and personalize certain experiences.
  • Comply with legal or regulatory requirements and enforce our Terms.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your information. We may share data with:

  • Emergency Contacts: When you enable alert notifications.
  • Service Providers: Trusted third parties (e.g., hosting, storage, analytics, communications) under contract.
  • Legal Authorities: When legally obligated to do so, or to protect rights, safety, and property.
  • Business Transfers: As part of a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to comparable protections.

4. Data Security

We use encryption, secure servers, access controls, and other safeguards designed to protect your data. However, no system is entirely secure.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as necessary for the purposes described or to comply with legal obligations. You can request deletion anytime. Backups may persist temporarily per backup cycles.

6. Children’s Privacy

Safe-Watcher is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Contact us if you believe we have done so inadvertently.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings, measure usage, and improve performance. You can manage preferences in your browser/device settings.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You may have rights to:

  • Access your data
  • Request correction or deletion
  • Object to or limit processing (where applicable)
  • Withdraw consent (where applicable, e.g., precise location)
  • Data portability (where applicable)

Contact Us to exercise these rights. We may need to verify your identity. You can also delete recordings you control from within the app.

9. Third-Party Services

Our app may link to or integrate external platforms (e.g., YouTube, Google Maps, analytics). Their practices are governed by their own policies. Review them separately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app/website notices.

11. Do Not Sell or Share Personal Information

We do not sell Personal Information. If we ever engage in “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under applicable state laws, you will be able to opt out. Use Contact Us for related requests.

12. State & Regional Notices (e.g., CA/CPRA, VA, CO, CT, UT) and GDPR

California (CCPA/CPRA): California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt-out of certain uses of Personal Information (including any “sharing”). We do not sell Personal Information. You may use an authorized agent. Appeals are available where required.

Other U.S. States: Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah residents may have similar rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, certain opt-outs). Appeals available where required.

GDPR (EEA/UK/Switzerland): Where GDPR applies, legal bases include contract, legitimate interests, consent, and legal obligations. You may have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

13. International Transfers

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use lawful transfer mechanisms and safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.

14. Data Breach & Legal Requests

We maintain incident response procedures. If legally required, we will notify you of a breach. We may preserve and disclose information to comply with legal processes or to protect the rights, property, and safety of users, the public, or Safe-Watcher.

15. Do Not Track

Some browsers send “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals. Because there is no industry standard for DNT responses, we do not currently respond to DNT signals.
